I am a professional graphic artist, but self taught resin artist. My work is inspired by the Lowcountry waterways, I depict the beauty of the SC coastline utilizing a fluid pour technique of mica pigments, acrylics, and resin. I build up each piece one layer at a time, carefully controlling the flow of the resin, while allowing it to settle on its own, emulating the movement of the ocean. By mixing and layering colors and textures, I am able to imitates the white caps on crashing waves. Each piece takes several days to complete, and I use a variety of woods and found objects for each piece. I also have rotating collection of unique one of a kind repurposed or salvaged items that I transform into functional art. All pieces are painted on Johns Island, SC in our home studio.
